Royal Caribbean is working to create exclusive experiences for passengers who sail in suite-category cabins. The program is currently in the planning phase, according to Royal Caribbean spokesman Harrison Liu. Travel Weekly reports that Royal Caribbean president Michael Bayley told a group of travel agents sailing onboard Quantum of the Seas that the idea was to make it an all-inclusive product.
According to the news story, the suite class package would roll out sometime in 2016.
The suite class idea is not a new one for Bayley, who introduced the concept to Celebrity Cruises during his tenure there. Suite Class on Celebrity ships gives passengers staying in upper-level cabins exclusive access to private restaurant Luminae, as well as butler service, afternoon tea service, a complimentary dinner in a specialty restaurant, reserved theater seating, luxury bath amenities and priority tender service. Passengers in the most expensive suites (Royal, Penthouse and Reflection suites) also receive the premium beverage package, unlimited specialty dining, unlimited Internet access, access to the private bar/concierge Michael's Club and complimentary access to in-cabin minibars stocked with beer, soda and water.
Bayley did not say whether the program being designed for Royal Caribbean would mimic the Celebrity system. Current perks for suite passengers on Royal Caribbean ships include priority check-in, as well as Concierge Club access, tender boarding priority and VIP pool deck seating on select ships.
