Wir hatten auch Panik...
Musste noch den Pass beantragen und Visum... aber Reisebüro meinte wir sollen uns nicht stressen, das geht auch noch nach den 4 Wochen.
Das sei nur damit AC nicht alles auf einmal bearbeiten muss.

Wir sind auch mit auf dieser Tour. Freuen uns schon riesig.

Was die Ausflugsplanungen angeht sind wir schon so gut wie fertig.

Dubai, Abu Dhabi und Muscat machen wir alles auf eigene Faust.

In Mumbai haben wir über Mumbai Magic gebucht. Am 1.1. nach Elephanta und am 2.1. Sehenswürdigkeiten von Mumbai, beide Touren sind auf deutsch

In Goa haben wir über Goa Magic gebucht "Goa Past and Present", Tour ist auf deutsch Sowohl in Mumbai als auch in Goa sind auf den Touren noch jeweils ein Platz frei.

Für New Mangalore haben wir uns Infos bei Mangalore Magic geholt. Leider gibt es da nur englisch-sprachige Guides. Und für uns drei wäre es zu teuer. Jetzt werden wir wohl einen Ausflug über AIDA buchen. Es sei denn es finden sich hier noch Leute im Forum die Interesse hätten sich zusammen zu schließen?!

How the tour is run: Mangalore is a small port town, and there isn’t a big English-speaking tourism industry there. Full time professional guides are not available in this town. What we provide are trained English-speaking escorts for the tour, along with car and driver and a tour itinerary of places to visit which we have checked out and visited and think you will find interesting.

WE DO NOT HAVE GERMAN SPEAKING GUIDE IN MANGALORE.

OPTION - I
Karkala, Moodbidri, Local Bazaar and Farm Visit

In this tour we will go on a drive to Karkala and Moodabidri, two sleepy towns situated around an hour’s drive from Mangalore. The drive is interesting once you leave the port behind, and you will see many coconut trees, arecanut trees, etc.

Between the 14th and 16th centuries, this area near Mangalore became a great centre of learning and pilgrimage for members of the ancient Jain faith. In Karkala the giant statue of Gomateshwara attracts Jain pilgrims from far and wide. It is on top of a hill and provides panoramic views of the countryside. In Moodabidri, we will visit the famous 1000-pillared Jain Temple dedicated to Chandranatha. This is the largest Jain temple in coastal Karanataka, with richly carved pillars; and no two pillars in this temple are alike.

We will also visit the local bazaar at Moodbidri, which has visitors from the surrounding areas, buying fruits, vegetables, spices, clothes, food items and other items of daily use. It is a nice way to see daily life in this part of the country.

This area of Mangalore is known for its pineapples and other tropical fruits. We will visit a working fruit farm with a bamboo grove. We will walk through the farm, learn about the various spices, trees, fruits and other products grown at the farm. You can taste their famous pineapples if you wish, and take a restroom break. They also offer spices for sale if you would like to buy some.

Plan for the day:
·Pickup from docks at 9:00 a.m.
·Transfer to Karkala 1hr 15 mins, drive to the top of the hill to see the Jain Gomateshwara Statue and views of the green countryside
·11:00 to 11:20 transfer to Soans Farm, visit the farm
·12:00 am transfer to 1000-pillar temple (15 minutes), visit the temple and the local market at Moodbidri
·1:30 p.m. depart back to docks by 3:30 pm(you can bring sandwiches or snacks from the ship to eat on the ride back)

Notes: Please bring an extra pair of socks as shoes are not allowed in the temples, and the temple stone flooring can be hot in areas exposed to the sun. September is the tail end of the monsoon season, so hot stone floors may not be a big problem for you. However it may rain (although probably not much). Please wear sensible footwear accordingly. An umbrella would be useful protection from both sun and rain. Soans Farm has clean toilets. Please bring packed sandwiches and snacks from the ship to eat on the drive back.

Cost: The pricing is as follows:
Rs 13,500 using a Toyota Innova car (Max 4 Persons)
Rs 19,500 using Tempo Traveler (Max 8 persons)

Inclusions: English-speaking escort, AC transport, driver with cell phone, fuel, parking charges, tolls, entrances, bottled water, all taxes.
Excludes: Entrance ticket Rs 200 extra per person for Soans Farm, meals, insurance, tips.

OPTION - II
Mangalore City Exploration


We will begin with a visit to Kadri Manjunatha Temple, which is more than 1000 years old. This temple, built in the 10th / 11^th century, has several sacred bathing tanks which people visit before praying. You can see the Mangalore-style tiled roofs and courtyards for an understanding of traditional temple architecture of the area.

Next, we will visit a grand modern temple in Kudroli dedicated to Gokarnatha, founded by the great social reformer Sri Narayana Guru, who rejected caste-based differences promoted the idea that all people are equal before God. The temple complex is large, showing diverse influences, with many interesting legends displayed. It includes a marriage hall.

After visiting these two temples, we will drive through the city centre, seeing the streets and daily life in the city. Our next stop is the Central Market wholesale bazaar, where agricultural produce (fruits and vegetables) from the surrounding countryside is brought each day for sale.

From the market, we will go to Saint Aloysius Chapel, which remains even today, a unique case of Italian art in India. Built by the Jesuits in 1890, the chapel was painted by the Italian Jesuit Antonio Moscheni, and attracts thousands of visitors every year.

For lunch we will visit a specialty restaurant to taste the famous Mangalore cuisine (you can have either seafood or meat-based or vegetarian lunch, depending on your preference). You can read more about the cuisine here.

After lunch, we will visit a cashew processing factory. India is one of the leading producers, processors and exporters of cashews in the world, accounting for 65% of the world’s exports.

Plan for the day:
·Pickup from docks at 9:00 a.m.
·Transfer to Mangalore 30 mins, visit Kadri Manjunatha and Kudroli Gokarnatha Temples
·11:30 to1 :00 Visit the Central Market wholesale bazaar for fruits and vegetables, and Aloysius Chapel
·1:00 to 2:00 Lunch at a specialty restaurant to taste the famous Mangalore cuisine (you can have either seafood or meat-based or vegetarian lunch, depending on your preference)
·2:00 to 3:00 - transfer to Cashew processing factory (30 mins), and tour of the cashew processig (30 mins)
·Drop to docks by 3:30 p.m.
·If you would also like to visit the flower market on Car Street, or the fish market, please let the guide know and they will add it to your tour.

Bei Ausflügen bis Mittags am Anreisetag würde ich aufpassen.

Erstens kann der Flieger Verspätung haben. Zudem haben wir letztes Jahr eine gute Stunde bei der Passkontrolle verbracht, da alle Deutschlandflieger und auch andere fast gleichzeitig landen.... viele Airbus 380! Die Passkontrolle war zudem aufreizend langsam in Dubai...

Wir sind um 06:15 in Dubai gelandet und erst um 09:15 an Bord.

hätte da auch nochmal zwei Fragen zur Beantragung des Visums in Frankfurt:

1. Man wird auf der Homepage gebeten, die Bilder hochzuladen.... Ist das wirklich nötig oder reicht es aus die beiden (Indien-tauglichen) Passfotos mit den Unterlagen per Post hinzuschicken ?
2. Muss der Rückumschlag nicht mit Porto versehen werden? Da steht nur was von "adressiert" aber nix von Porto?!

Vielleicht kann mir ja schon jemand mit Erfahrung weiterhelfen? Das wäre toll. So langsam müssen die Unterlagen ja dringend nach Frankfurt

Wir haben heute unsere Pässe mit Visum aus Frankfurt zurückerhalten. Lief alles sehr einfach und problemlos ab. Zum Glück haben wir nicht den von AIDA empfohlenen Anbieter genommen und so Kosten gespart.

zu 1.) Nein, es reicht die Fotos den Unterlagen beizufügen.

zu 2.) Der Umschlag muss nur adressiert sein, Porto wird von denen gezahlt, ist quasi in den Gebühren enthalten.

Bearbeitungszeit:
Wir haben die Unterlagen am 15.11. per Einschreiben versandt. Am 19.11. erhielten wir die Eingangsbestätigung per Mail.

Am 29.11. wurden die Unterlagen geprüft und beim Konsulat eingereicht, am 30.11. war das Visum erteilt und wurde per Post zurückgeschickt.

Gibt's eigentlich was Neues zum Treffen?

Juchu habe auch gerade aus Berlin mein Visum erhalten... nach 1,5 Wochen.
Komisch war nur, das meines Mannes kam schon Mittwoch...
Mussten auch 2 x Gebühren zahlen fürs schicken.

So ein Treffen zu Anfang der Reise ist ganz nett um sich kurz gesehen zu haben, sich kennen zu lernen. Manchmal hat man sich danach auch zu gemeinsamen Landausflügen getroffen. Oder einfach mal ein einer Bar oder am Pooldeck oder so. Manchmal entwickeln sich auch richtige Freundschaften.

Wenn es klappt kommt jemand von der Crew vorbei: Entertainmanager oder Generalmanager. Wenn man Glück hat der Kapitän. Meist gibt's da ein Brausefreigetränk .

Giftzwergal: seit ihr auch sicher das ihr die Gebühren korrekt überwiesen habt? Bei mir hatte der Expresszuschlag gefehlt, weil der auf der Homepage nicht stand und ich hab eine email erhalten, wenn das nicht überwiesen wird, geht gar nix. Schaut doch mal in euren Emails oder gebt auf der Homepage von denen den Status ein, wie weit das ist.

WIr hatten das übers Reisebüro gemacht - da wir bis dato keine Erfahrung mit Visum hatten.

Habe gestern im Reisebüro angerufen, es scheint aber wohl alles in Ordnung zu sein und er meinte er müsste diese Woche die Pässe/ Visum erhalten.
Sollte dem nicht so sein, werde ich am Freitag gewaltig Rambazamba machen müssen *lach*
